These are our 2 Chilean Degus, Rantan and Bongo.

Now degus may not be as famous as gerbils or hamsters, but they are totally cool pets.

They live in a tall cage in Ben's room. They're both males, from the same litter we think. They get on really well most of the time.

They eat dry vegetable food, but no fruit, because they can't really process the sugar.

They're great at going to sleep when it gets dark, and they spend a fair amount of time napping in teh day, but most of teh time they're very active, and whizz around their cage and run for hours on their wheel.
