WHERE
WE LIVE![]() We live in a place called Muswell Hill, which is an Edwardian suburb of London about 6 miles due North of Trafalgar Square, which is usually counted as the middle of London. It
takes about half an hour to drive into town from here. The name Muswell
Hill is thought to come from Moss Well, a natural spring which attracted
pilgrims to the area in the middle ages, and the source of which lies beneath
a house a few minutes walk from ours. Our house was built in 1903. It's a typical Edwardian London terrace, built originally for the families of clerks and other middle managers working in the banking area of the City of London and commuting to work via the railway which, in 1903, had been newly routed here.
